What Would Jaggy Jeff™ Say?

Updated: Feb 29, 2020

Welcome to my first Blog.

So…this Blog thing.

I’ve been trying to wrap my mind around this for a while now, and I’m still struggling. Why do people do it, and why don’t I?

It’s not that I’m out of touch; at least I don’t think I am. I’ve been active on social media for a long time, have a decent amount of followers, I have my own website, always up on the latest technology, I’ve been on the radio for 17 years where I can pretty much talk all I want (within boundaries); heck, I’m in charge of marketing for a big Parks & Rec Department where I disseminate tons of information. So why have I been reluctant to Blog? I conveniently came up with 3 reasons.

Reason #1: Maybe I wouldn’t be timely enough, and they say you should stay on a schedule, which I would have trouble with.

Reason #2: Maybe I’m afraid no one would read what I wrote, and if so, then why bother?

Reason #3: I wouldn’t have enough to say.

Ixnay that last reason, I have plenty to say. Which is probably why I’m here.

So here’s my thinking on this. I’d like to give this a shot, but in a little different way. I’d like this to be more of an ‘Ask Jaggy’ type of thing, an advice column of sorts, where I encourage you guys to ask me anything, I try to answer within a reasonable amount of time, and occasionally write another Blog. Let me tell you a little more about myself so you might consider me a source of information and advice, or at least interesting reading.

I think of my life in chapters. I calculate I’m in about Chapter 14 (As you get to know me better you’ll understand why so many). Two things here: 1. This means that I have a lot of life experiences that might qualify me to give advice 2. I’m hoping it’s a big book.

My work background also lends itself to helping dole out some good stuff once in a while. I’ve been a lawn maintenance worker, soda jerk, carpenter, roofer, farmhand, cattleman, janitor, groceryman, sales agent, district manager, radio dj, musician, actor, voiceover artist, restaurant owner, bartender, wine store manager, performing arts presenter and business & information specialist(these are just the things I’ve done that paid me, I have lots more, but I won’t bore you right now).

So, what do you think, can we do this Blog, advicey-column approach? I’ll warn you, my answers and advice probably won’t be this wordy, and I might be a little blunt, but I’ve been told I’m a good listener, so there’s that. I’m not one to shy away from stuff like politics and religion, but if you follow me on Facebook you know that I don’t post anything about those things; I don’t like that forum for that kinda stuff. I do see that most online advice columns are all about relationships; I’ll talk about that all day if you’d like (I have a psychology degree) but I think people also want just straight talk and help with a lot of other things in their lives, so bring it on. I can handle most stuff. I have always said that I know a lot about many things, of which I am an expert of none. So, yeah, I’m willing to try this…Blog thing. Come on, Join In!

Now I just have to figure out this internets thing.

Cheers,

Jaggy Jeff™
